[Project-managers] Binary distribution

Just a note: I believe that if you have a shared libfoo.so then if you
explicitly list it on the link commandline instead of just saying -lfoo, then
the linker treats it as any other object file, so in effect you link
statically against that lib. Granted, probably some junk gets in the
executable as well, but static linking is achieved.

This is certainly the case on AIX.
