After a brief hiatus, we are once again trying to use SYMPHONY across a
small Linux (Ubuntu) cluster.
We believe PVM is install correctly with PVM_ROOT set.
Using *svn* to checkout release 5.6.6, we try *./configure --with-pvm* in
the ~/SYMPHONY-5.6.6 directory. The message reads "Main Configuration of
SYMPHONY is successful." Then, trying *make* fails with the message:
Makefile:7224: recipe for target "libSym_lp_cg_la-lp_wrapper.lo" failed.
make[2]: *** [libSym_lp_cg_la-lp_wrapper.lo] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory ~/SYMPHONY-5.6.6/src
Makefile:648: recipe for target "all-recursive" failed
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory ~/SYMPHONY-5.6.6
Makefile:322: recipe for target all-recursive failed
make: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
If we try the *./configure *step without the --with-pvm flag, then the
configuration, *make* and *make* *install* steps are all successful.
Any suggestions on how we can proceed using --with-pvm? We are grateful for
any help.
Respectfully,
David and John
