[RBFOpt] Problem Installing Bonmin

I did just that and it works now! I’m testing the tool, its really useful.

I was overcomplicating myself by trying to compile using other programs that require other programs ..

Hi Francisco,
you cannot use Gurobi instead of Bonmin because they solve different types of problem. I do not see a way to overcome this.

Installing Bonmin and Ipopt should not be difficult if you are following the instructions in the Readme. It should be sufficient to download binaries for your platform from AMPL's website, and put these binaries somewhere in your path. Does this not work? If so, please provide more information on what issue you are encountering.

I have installed RBFOpt through pip. However, I’m having problems with installing the solvers either Bonmin or Ipopt. I think compiling and installing these solvers its even harder than the problem I’m trying to optimize in the first place!

I do have Pyomo and  gurobi installed but I don’t know what lines to change in the RBFOpt code to use gurobi instead. Any help would be appreciated.
