[OS] Another data point for OS / ASL under Msys / cl

Hi Lou:

Thanks for this input.

My Msys/cl setup is on my machine at home and I will try ./configure 
--enable-debug when I get home tonight.  Working with ASL has caused 
huge problemsfor lots of projects.
