I tried building the trunk version of Gamslinks, but Im getting compiler error for the multithreaded code in cppad. I think it is something to do with the boost library. Do I need boost installed on my system ?

No, that's some bug.
One workaround is to delete the occurences of multi_thread in
cppad/makefile as generated by configure.

Since you just need Couenne, you could also delete cppad and OS from
your GAMSlinks checkout and run configure again.

PS: You may want to move to the GAMSlinks mailing list (or send directly
to me) with further GAMSlinks related questions.
