I suppose a static string (say "COMPILED WITH AMPL SUPPORT" :-) could be 
added to CBC that would be compiled in only if it is compiled with ampl 
support, and if cbc --version is called then this info could be spit out 
as well as anything else.

Hello, all:

I build option for CBC is to link with the AMPL Solver Library.  This is 
nice, since it allows CBC to directly parse *.nl files.

I'm developing a wrapper that calls CBC, and I'm wondering if there is a 
way to test CBC to see if a cbc executable has been built with the AMPL 
Solver Library.  I can try it out and see if it fails, but that's and 
unpleasant alternative...
