A 90 minute tutorial on the COIN-OR Branch and Cut (CBC) code is schedule
at
INFORMS Annual Meeting, Weds, Nov 16 from 1:30-3PM.

If you're planning to attend, what do you want to get out of it?
-- Is there an existing feature of CBC you've been wanting explained?
-- Is there something you want to implement in CBC yourself, but need a
bit of help to get started?
-- Is there a capability you want to have in CBC, but want someone else
to put it in there for you?

Write back to the list or off-line. Let us know.

Here's some of the things that we *could* cover, just to get your thoughts
flowing....
Robin

1. Simple CBC
- e.g., how to invoke the executable
- e.g., how to re-use simple drivers.
- e.g., what parameters exists and how to play around with them

2. More serious use of CBC's "building blocks"
- e.g., creating your own heuristics
- e.g., creating your own branching variable

3. How do I.....
- e.g., solve a series of IPs to generate a predictably good solution
- e.g., reduced cost fixing (before going into CBC)

4. Discussion of existing features in CBC
- e.g., Feasibility Pump Heuristic

5. Discussion on desired features
- e.g, "all different" branching in CBC (or put it in as a cut-generator
as well, as a special type of "probing"...)
