I don't really understand why we need to add an additional parameter (apart
from to avoid breaking existing code that rely on a bug).

The aim of the Osi interface is to be able to switch from one solver to an
another without problems. So if the behavior of an API isn't solver
homogenous I don't see obstruction to change it.

Am I wrong?
