[Cbc] Cbc vs Symphony

Hi Onur,
Sorry for the delay in responding. SYMPHONY and Cbc are both MILP
solvers and address the solution of the same class of problems. As a
generic solver off the shelf, Cbc is going to be faster, generally
speaking. SYMPHONY was originally built as a framework for
implementing customized solvers and has more extensive documentation
for building customized applications (adding your own cutting planes,
branching rules, etc). There are lots of examples showing how to do
that, so if that's what you're after, it may be an easier choice.
SYMPHONY also has a number of experimental capabilities, such as the
ability to solve bicriteria problems, the ability to do sensitivity
analysis and warm starting, and distributed parallelism that Cbc
doesn't have. Hope this help.
