It's from before CbcSolver politely announced its build date with every
solve. Circumstantial evidence indicates a version from late 2008, so
it's older than I thought when I wrote my initial message.

What specific version of Cbc were you using previously?

After procrastinating for months, we finally got around to rebuilding our
application on the most recent stable version of the COIN/Cbc sources.
Our last update was around two years ago.

We were very pleasantly surprised to find a dramatic speedup in solving
our typical problem mix. Problems that used to run out of time (with a
timeout set to 1800 CPU seconds) now complete in just a few seconds.

Have other COIN/Cbc users and developers experienced such a marked
improvement? Should we be ecstatic ... or suspicious?
