[ADOL-C] Technical informations

Hello,
I am working on the development of automatic differentiation tools for our finite element software (FreeFem++), I would like to evaluate if I could do that with adolc (it would be nice, it seems to provide many interesting derivation features) but for that I need a lot of programming related informations which I have not found in the documentation. Is there a technical documentation or the only way is to look by myself in the files and ask what I don't understand here?
