[Symphony] troubling building 5.3.5/5.4.0 with msvc v9

There have been some changes to the directory structure of some of the
projects (Osi in particular) that would cause the problems you are
seeing. There are also some other changes that will cause problems if
you get past those. All in all, it would be a little involved to get
the v9 files updated. If you search the mailing lists, you will find
some other threads that address what would need to be done to get
everything working. Since I recently put a lot of effort into updating
the v10 files for all projects, I'm not very excited about looking at
v9 files now :). The v10 files seem to be working fine and now support
64-bit, etc., so is there a reason you can't just upgrade to v10? The
Express version is a free download. If you really want to fix the v9
files and can't find the posts I am referring to, I can fish them out
for you. I would be very happy if you would contribute the repaired
files as well.

Cheers,

Ted
