[Project-managers] Final move to git

Hi all,

TLDR: Please let me know if you would like to attend a webinar next week to
talk about git workflows and GitHub generally, as we prepare to move
permanently to git across all projects.

The longer version:

At long last, we are preparing to make a final move to git (and GitHub)
from SVN. Many projects have by now already moved permanently to git, but
some have remained on SVN (and are only mirrored to git), because we wanted
to have some documentation of recommended workflows before making a final
move. Now I've pulled together some documentation, here:

https://coin-or.github.io/developer_introduction.html

Right now, the documentation covers mostly topics related to git and
Github. The workflows we've recommended are fairly close to what we were
already doing in SVN to make the move as smooth as possible, but these
could evolve over time. And of course, individual projects are free to
adopt their own workflows. There is a whole other part of the documentation
that remains to be done, which is to document the new version of the build
tools (also recently launched, rather quietly).

I'm planning to host the first in a series of webinars (provided there is
enough interest) next week. The first topic will be git workflows
generally, but the focus will be on the new git workflows for projects that
are part of (or want to be part of!) the "Optimization Suite." If you are
unfamiliar with git (or just want to geek out with some like-minded people
for an hour or so during this crazy time!), then please let me know and I
will set a time next week when we can all get together on-line.

If you manage one of the projects in the Optimization Suite, please take a
look at the documentation and also pass this message on to any developers
that should be in the loop. Let me know if you have any feedback.

Cheers,

Ted
