We have sort of agreed that we'll communicate via skype this year, but 
I just realized a big problem with skype... That is participants can 
be *added* to a chat (text or voice), but nobody can join a chat on 
their own. So from that point of view irc is a better setup. Of 
course, if someone wants to talk (voice) to someone else then skype is 
a great solution. So I think we should have an irc channel open.
What do others think?

Matt, just in case, could you make sure that port 7777 is not blocked? 
That's what we have used in the past (irc://irc.coin-or.org:7777).
