I'm excited to announce that a MATLAB interface to IPOPT is now available
in the new, stable release of IPOPT. The state-of-the-art in contrained,
nonlinear optimization is now available to MATLAB users for free!
Detailed installation instructions plus a tutorial are all found on the
new webpage (https://projects.coin-or.org/Ipopt/wiki/MatlabInterface).
If you are a MATLAB user, I highly encourage you to try it out. It has
been especially designed so that experienced MATLAB users will find it
easy to use. Installing the MATLAB interface library is a little tricky,
so if you have any questions or problems to report, please send an email
to the IPOPT mailing list.
The MATLAB interface to IPOPT was developed in C++ using the MATLAB External
Interface (MEX). Of note, it supports sparse matrices for the Hessian and
Jacobian matrices.
Thanks to Andreas Waechter for all his help!
