Members present at the Annual Meeting may vote in person.  The Annual 
Meeting will be held Monday, October 15th at 12:15 pm in Room 
Center-West 212B at the INFORMS 2012 Annual Meeting in Phoenix, Arizona.

Candidate bios
------------------

Kevin Furman
------------

Kevin Furman is currently the Supply Chain Optimization Team Leader in 
the Computational Sciences division at ExxonMobil Upstream Research 
Company. He also previously served as the Optimization and Logistics 
Program Leader in the Corporate Strategic Research department of 
ExxonMobil Research and Engineering Co. for several years. His recent 
research efforts include the topical areas of maritime transportation 
optimization, planning and scheduling applications in the oil and gas 
industry, and mixed integer nonlinear programming, for which he has 
authored several publications and presented at conferences on many 
occasions.  Kevin is an active member within several professional 
societies including INFORMS and AIChE.  He has served on the COIN-OR 
Strategic Leadership Board since 2007.  Kevin hopes to help promote the 
use of and contributions to COIN-OR within industry through his 
continued service with the Strategic Leadership Board.  He is also 
interested in assisting in COIN-OR playing a role in setting new 
standards and benchmarks for computational optimization, and operations 
research in general.


Lou Hafer
---------

Lou Hafer is an Associate Professor in the School of Computing Science 
at Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, British Columbia. He is the 
author of the Dylp linear programming code and the OsiDylp OSI 
interface; Project Manager for the DylP project and co-PM for OSI; and 
an active contributor to BuildTools, Cbc and related COIN projects. Most 
recently, he has been collaborating on the development of OSI2. He has a 
long-standing interest in open source software and wrote the bonsaiG 
integer programming code before joining COIN-OR.

Lou is a founding member of the Strategic Leadership Board and serves as 
the Foundation's corporate Secretary. If elected, his priorities for the 
next term are the development of a strategic plan for the evolution of 
COIN software and establishing a sustainable income stream for the 
Foundation.


Haroldo Santos
--------------

Haroldo Gambini Santos is a professor and researcher at the Computing 
Department of Universidade Federal de Ouro Preto. His research includes 
the improvement of integer programming solving techniques and its 
application to challenging, real world problems. His contributions to 
the COIN-OR community include the MIPStart feature for the CBC package 
and improved multi-platform installers for the COIN-All project. He 
received his D.Sc. degree in Computer Science from Universidade Federal 
Fluminense of Niteroi.
