There is in fact development of a ground-up rebuild of OSI under way
(with actual code!), but I don't care to predict right now when it will
be ready to unleash on the world at large. 

Stay tuned to this space, though.  Probably the best way to ensure that
this feature is considered for inclusion is to post a ticket at the
current OSI project site: https://projects.coin-or.org/Osi.
