I am trying to install Cbc on a 64-bit Linux box, using the prepared
binaries at
http://www.coin-or.org/download/binary/Cbc/Cbc-2.1.0-linear-x86
64-icc9.1-parallel.tgz.
I downloaded and expanded the contents with no trouble.
Upon trying to run the cbc executable, I got an error message, notifying
me that the library libsvml.so could not be found. I managed to locate an
rpm archive that contained that library, but when I next tried the
executable, I found that I was missing libifport.so.5, and I haven't been
able to locate and install it.
Apparently this library is part of the Intel Fortran product. Is it
possible to obtain the library without being an Intel Fortran customer?
And in more generality, when trying to install COIN-OR projects, what
procedure should we follow for tracking down needed library software?
