We use Solaris 10 and Sun Studio 12, is it better to use Sun Studio 11 ?

I have just made a new build where I just ran configure without any
options, it found the installed gcc as C compiler, but I don't think
it is used for anything. It found suns c++ and f77 compilers, it did
not find sunperf:

checking whether -lblas has BLAS... no
configure: WARNING: Cannot find BLAS - no dense factorization
checking whether -llapack has LAPACK... no
configure: WARNING: Cannot find LAPACK - no dense factorization

Unfortunately I still get the same error:
