If you use clp in the following way it should give names Rnnnnnn etc which
should be easier to use.
clp -keepnam false -import xxxx.mps -presolve off -export yyyy.mps

[Coin-discuss] MPS format change
Please respond to

Hello,
I wanted to change a MPS free format file to MPS fixed format file (by
possibly make the variable names smaller as that is the only concern in
free format) by using CoinMpsIO class routines. I saw the documentation
for readMps and writeMps but didn't see any option to force the writeMps
method to write in fixed format.
Is there any way to do this?
Just to mention, my reason for doing this is to compare performance of
Clp with other solvers like glpk and lp_solve. The other two doesn't
accept MPS free format files.
Thanks and regards,
-Samik
