Doing a full update from the rpm's at :

glibc-common-2.3.2-27.9.7.i386.rpm glibc-utils-2.3.2-27.9.7.i386.rpm
glibc-debug-2.3.2-27.9.7.i386.rpm glibc-devel-2.3.2-27.9.7.i386.rpm
nptl-devel-2.3.2-27.9.7.i686.rpm
seems to have done the trick on my machine. No OSL crash this time.
