Call for Nominations for Directors, COIN-OR Foundation

Elections for directors of the COIN-OR Foundation will be held in
November and early December. All Full Members of the Foundation are
eligible to vote.

Nominations are solicited for candidates for two director positions on
the Strategic Leadership Board (SLB) and four director position on the
Technical Leadership Council (TLC).

COIN-OR is evolving rapidly, and directors will have a significant
influence on the development of the Foundation. Candidates should have
an active interest in COIN-OR and be committed to active participation
in SLB and TLC business. For more information on the activities of and
expectations for directors, prospective candidates are encouraged to
contact any of the current directors or the Foundation Secretary
(secretary at coin-or.org).

Two directors will be elected to the SLB. There are no
eligibility requirements for these positions; in particular,
membership in COIN-OR is not required.

Four directors will be elected to the TLC. There are no eligibility
requirements for these positions; in particular, membership in COIN-OR
is not required. Users and contributors who are not themselves project
managers are particularly encouraged to run. Three of the TLC positions
are for three-year terms and one is for a two-year term. The candidate
with the fourth-largest vote total will serve the two-year term. In
case of a tie, the two-year term will be filled randomly from among the
tied candidates.

For all director positions, a candidate may be nominated by any member
of the Foundation. Self-nomination is encouraged. The nomination must be
seconded by a full member of the Foundation. Incumbent directors are
eligible for nomination.

Nominations should be emailed to the president (president at
coin-or.org) and will be accepted through Monday, November 17, 2008.
Candidates must agree to be nominated and will be contacted to provide a
short biography and statement to be distributed to the full members of
the Foundation prior to the election.
