COIN-OR (www.coin-or.org) is an initiative to promote open-source
software, standards, models, and data for operations research. More
than a dozen projects are hosted by COIN-OR, including linear and
integer programming solvers, frameworks for implementing branch, cut,
and price algorithms, libraries of cutting planes for mixed integer
programs, interior point solvers for nonlinear programs, tools for
derivative-free optimization, and interfaces for modeling stochastic
programs.
The goals of this workshop are to provide:
* Hands-on tutorials for new users,
* Forums for users, would-be users, and developers to exchange
ideas and experiences,
* Case-studies of research and business uses, and
* Discussions on the future direction and shape of open-source in
operations research.
