First of all, this should be posted on coin-discuss.  I've posted the
reply there.

Second, the answer to the question is no.  COIN/BCP uses features of C++
that are not supported by VC++ 6.0.  Your best options are to get VC++ 7.0
(the command-line version of that compiler is available free of charge
from Microsoft) or to get the Cygwin development toolchain
(http://www.cygwin.com/), which includes the CNU C++ compiler.
