We are pleased to announce the early availability of OpenTS - a Java library
for building Tabu Searches - on the COIN web site.
Tabu Search is a meta-heuristic modelled after the way humans perform
searches, remembering where they've been and looking for patterns in good
solutions.
OpenTS takes care of some of the book-keeping involved in tabu searches and
helps you concentrate on tailoring your search to your application.
In a classroom OpenTS not only aids in the rapid development of tabu
searches for heuristic courses but also provides a friendly, structured
architecture for analysts learning Object Oriented Programming.
