Comment:

 For the first option, one would need to see more information. E.g., which
 is "the source". Is it indeed only MA57, or did you get the HSL for Ipopt
 source package? What is the rest of the configure output, where are the
 config.log files?

 Ipopt usually says in the log which linear solver it is using. Further,
 use option "linear_solver" to force a specific one.
