#277: 'Make' does not work on Windows 10 machine with Cygwin and MSVC++ compiler
----------------------------+----------------------------------------
  Reporter: LKeersmaekers | Owner: ipopt-team
      Type: defect | Status: new
  Priority: normal | Component: Ipopt
   Version: 3.12 | Severity: normal
Resolution: | Keywords: Cygwin, MSVC++, Make error

Comment (by LKeersmaekers):

The problem is still not solved, but I've been trying a few things:

 1) I tried exactly the same procedure on a different PC (also Windows 10,
Cygwin and MSVC++ compilers). On this PC, the configure and make steps are
succeeding. However, when performing 'make test', I get a lot of LNK
errors (see MakeTestErrors.txt). This leaves me puzzled for 2 reasons:
     - Why did the make step succeed on one PC, and not on the other?
     - What could cause the LNK errors?

 2) A second test I performed is the use of the GNU compilers instead of
MSVC++. By using these compilers, I managed to configure, make, make test
and make install. However, since I now obtained .a instead of .lib files,
I cannot use them in Visual Studio (or can I?).
