[Dip] error when using dippy

Thanks Ted. I have modified the LD_LIBRARY_PATH to include my DIP install
dir (/usr/local/lib/Dip-0.9.9) [By the way, I am unsure how to install Dip
to a particular directory. I just downloaded the source using svn to
/usr/local/lib and then did the install instructions (.configure, make,
make install)]

I am getting new errors now.

Here is the error I get when I try to install dippy from the Dip
subdirectory:

hmedal at ws113-16:/usr/local/lib/Dip-0.9.9/Dip$ python setup.py install
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "setup.py", line 15, in <module>
    coin_install_dir = os.environ['COIN_INSTALL_DIR']
File "/usr/lib64/python2.7/UserDict.py", line 23, in __getitem__
    raise KeyError(key)
KeyError: 'COIN_INSTALL_DIR'

And here is the error I get when I try to use dippy from python (I did
reinstall dippy from the egg file after I reinstalled the latest version of
Dip):

ImportError: /usr/local/lib/Dip-0.9.9/lib/libCoinUtils.so.3: undefined

I checked to make sure that I have zlib-devel (I think it contains gzopen)
on my system.

Hugh
