[Dip] compile time error

[Ted Ralphs]

Can you give some more information to allow us to reproduce the problem?

1. Send the output of "svn info" command in the root of your checkout.
2. Send the config.log file produced after configuration (which I
assume was successful?).
3. Send the output of "gcc --version".
