<div>One primary reason that the NL file format is used within COIN-OR (and elsewhere) is that it supports non-linear expressions; the other standard or widely used optimization interchange formats do not (with few exceptions, e.g., LP and quadratics). This
capability isn't necessary or useful for CLP and CBC, but are essential for Ipopt and related COIN-OR solvers.</div>
