something better for the community is what open-source is all about --
and definitely the kinda of evolution we want to encourage and support

your changes back to the PuLP base code, then essentially you will be "forking"
the PuLP by starting a new project on COIN-OR. While the PuLP license
doesn't require it, we'd recommend (1) your new project differentiate itself
from the original by adopting a slightly different name (e.g., PuLP+ (?)),
explicitly stating the relationship in the source code, or some other means
in order to avoid confusion in the community, and (2) sending a note to
the original author to make them aware of the fork, just as a courtesy.
