 I had a look at this.  GLPK comes with its own configure script, and it
 doesn't work to recursively include it with out configure scripts
 (different versions of autoconf don't understand each others command line
 arguments, such as '-C').  We could try to write 'wrapper' configure
 script, but that might be somewhat of a hassle.

 I agree it would be nice to have this, but I don't see a very simple
 solution that can be done in a few minutes.
